‘Tempe Downs bullocks in the paddock. Dam there. Ducks on the dam, one fella swimming in the dam, waving to the helicopter. Everyone all camped around near watertank. One cowboy on a horse mustering bullocks.
Through the gap in the range behind runs Illararri Creek. It comes all the way from Utju (Areyonga Community, west of Hermannsburg). There’s a waterhole called Illararri Springs just near that gap. It’s a permanent waterhole, big important place, that one.
All Tempe Downs important place for us, for family.’
