Purple Truck Women’s T-Shirt

$30.00

In February 2019, Caddie Brain hosted a workshop at the Purple House in Alice Springs as part of the Indigemoji project.

During the workshop, Elizabeth Oloodoodi recreated in emoji-form her father Patrick Tjungurrayi’s artwork featured on the side of the Purple Truck. This was a very special moment at the Purple House.

Elizabeth’s father, Patrick Tjungarrayi was a senior Pintupi painter, who was a driving force in the early days of The Purple House. He fought hard to establish a dialysis unit at Kiwirrikurra. He contributed to the men’s collaborative work which was auctioned at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 2000. This initiative started Western Desert Dialysis, now called Purple House. Learn more about the Purple House story and the Purple Truck.

The Indigemoji project was sponsored by the Northern Territory Government & Ingeous Studios. The emoji’s are soon to be released as a sticker set on Android & Apple devices. Learn more about the Indigemoji Project here.

These t-shirts are unisex with a crew neck and are made of 100% combed cotton (marles 15% viscose).
