This is a Ganalbingu story. Its representing our homeland there, at Ngaliyindi, at a place called Mululumurr its the homeland for Ganalbingu. Everything important for Ganalbingu is there. Thats the place where Warrnyu (Fruit bat) live in the trees and Ngamburrngamburr (Spider) lives there too , also Djanyarr (The Dog). These animals have a ceremony and dance from our song line. First we sing the Warrnyu, then comes the wind Lunggurrma, then we sing Litjilitji (Crimson finch) and after that the Ngamburrngamburr (Spider), they were all dancing there at Mululumurr. This place and this story is important for Ganalbingu.
Djanyarr heard the sound of a Flying Fox screaming. He then went into the cave and into the sacred hole and frightened all the Flying Fox away. He left his dilly bag in the tree and went out on the other side of the sacred cave where he left his spear and woomera. He sat there for a long time. The Dog made three streams and the water went inside the cave. Two of these streams are good drinking water, the middle stream is sacred water, no-one drinks from the middle of the stream. Children, men, women, young boys or girls are not allowed to drink from the middle of the stream. If they drink the water from the middle of the stream they will get grey too early. You can see these places still today. When you walk inside the rain forest you can see the Warrnyu and its droppings all over the place. You can also see the spider sitting in its web and you might see the footprints of the dog.

Domestic Shipping Policy – Artwork price includes shipping within Australia. Smaller items are sent with Australia Post. Larger artworks (100 cm +) are sent via Startrack Express and tracking numbers are provided. Due to our remote location, Startrack freight needs to be driven in to Nhulunbuy for on-forwarding. If there is a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone. Delivery delays can occasionally occur.
Please allow 3-5 days for artworks to be processed and packed and 7-10 working days for delivery.
International purchases are sent via FEDEX, UPS or Australia Post and may incur additional cost.
All barks are sold with an aluminium framing system ready to be hung. Larrakitj and carvings do not include stands or supports for display, please email [email protected] or leave a message in your sale for more information on the manufacture of Larrakitj and sculpture stands or supports.
All canvases are delivered rolled and in a tube and do not include a stretcher frame. Works on paper are unframed.

Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All artworks are insured and should damage occur in transit the customer will be offered the options to repair, exchange or refund the work.
In the case of damage the art centre will arrange the pick up and return of the work.

- Tarnanthi Art fair & Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation takes no responsibility for the negotiation, coordination or distribution of freight and shipping of purchases made at the 2023 online Tarnanthi Art fair. Items customers wish to purchase may require an additional quote from the Art Centre/Vendor for freight which will be charged separately.
- Shipping and freight costs are not included in the advertised purchase price unless this is stipulated at the point of purchase of the item by the Art Centre/Vendor.
- If shipping and freight costs are not stipulated at point of purchase, all shipping and freight costs must be arranged directly with the Art Centre/Vendor from where the purchase was made.
