Patricia Coleman

Patricia was born in Pormpuraaw and grew up there. She did her primary schooling in the community, and then attended boarding schools in Bamako and Herberton until Year 10.

She then studied at Cairns TAFE to become a Health Worker and worked at the old Pormpuraaw Hospital for 12 years.

Patricia has been developing as an artist over the last 5 years. Her paintings are vibrantly coloured and expressive. She draws inspiration for her work from the textures and landscapes of her country and the creatures of the ocean.
