Nathan Thomas

Waringarri Aboriginal Arts & Kira Kiro Artists

I was born and raised in Halls Creek.  My grandmother, Lorna Thomas, was an artist at Warmun and she inspired me to paint and create all sorts of art since I was a young boy. I used to win art competitions in school all the time when growing up. I am a mixed media, multi disciplinary artist. I enjoy wood and boab nut carving, painting, drawing and I am passionate about learning more. My grandfather used to make artefacts and animal sculptures from wood which also inspire me to make similar things.

I used to work at Halls Creek at art centre,Yarlilyil, making canvases.  When I had free time I used to paint there as well.

Recently I became involved in animation and ceramics at Waringarri Arts which was really interesting and different.

I always wanted to be an artist.
