Wallaby Hide

$1,100.00

  • 150cm x 100cm
  • Catalog No: 56-158-23

N’Dene’s parents camped on land in NSW near Deniliquin and Noojee, where there were thousands of kangaroos, and it has become apparent that the bush life is in her.

Skins are rare pieces, as in her ancestry they were taught to only take what they needed when it came to hunting.

This is a unique artwork, where N’Dene has used symbols and colour to portray her connection to the ocean, painted in acrylic on one side of the canvas.  The other side is raw wallaby fur, with the possibility of being hung or displayed in different ways.

This wallaby skin is an ode to the traditional way of kangaroo hunting in her families.
