“The Turtles are swimming through the ocean on their journeys, as a family or friendship group or possibly a whole Mob! Who knows? They do: the turtles know where they are going and how long it takes.
They are creating a pathway as they work together pushing through the strong waters: loa maggalangta (deep water). The painting shows strong colour and depth indicating where they are.
One of my Aunties’ confirmed that the Victorian Turtles travel and visit the shorelines in Parrdarrma Pungenna.
This shows their journey through that pathway. My hope is that you have this painting to inspire you as well as increase awareness of our beautiful underwater world which needs protection as we do in Our Culture”
