This Jukurrpa (Dreaming) tells the story of warna (snake). Warna live in the Tanami desert, hidden from sight during the day to avoid the heat. They hunt at night when the temperature has cooled. The male and female warna travel together and hunt for small native animals, like rats and mice. Warna are often venomous and very dangerous, but they leave their trail in the desert sand so Warlpiri people know where they can safely travel.
