Mirlarl (jungle vine) is harvested in in the monsoon jungle near Yilan, a homeland close to the Blythe River west of Milingimbi. The handles for this Bathi are spun from handmade bush string, produced by rolling the bark of the Balgurr tree (coastal Karrajong). The strength of these materials and open weave design lend make this style of ganaŋgirr (conicial basket) appropriate for to carrying shellfish or meat.
