Lajamanu was one of the first places where Warlpiri iconography was adapted to include the entry of new culture into the ancient form of passing information. These days on a Sunday in the local church this old method of story telling is still used – on a board with chalk, but all certainly understand the story being told in a traditional way. The story is of Christ and His message, which is very well understood by a people whose senses are still well attuned to spirituality.
