Rachel’s painting depicts a series of bush foods found in Gurindji Country. The larger brown shapes are bush yams called yarla in Warlpiri language or yangunungku in Gurindji. The smaller white caterpillar shapes are lamawurt (witchetty grubs), honey ants are depicted in the lower corner circles and the bush tomatoes are represented by pale yellow circles with green leaves.
In the centre of the painting, the concentric circles represent the place where the family gather around the campfire to enjoy the bush foods.

Karungkarni Art is located in a very remote region and we are unable to ship directly from our community. We deliver to Darwin and then by Australia Post or Courier. Please allow 2-3 weeks to receive your delivery.

Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
It is important to us that you are happy with your purchase, if not we will refund/exchange the value of the artwork, minus the freight costs. Refunds and exchanges are not available for change of mind. Please choose carefully, and check your order details before completing your purchase.
Karungkarni Art and Culture Return policy
You must notify Karungkarni Art within 10 days of receiving the artwork to request a refund or exchange. You need only pay the cost of returning the artwork to us. The artwork must be returned in its original condition with all of its accompanying documentation for the guarantee to apply. When the artwork is received, you will receive your refund/exchange credit.
