Walirr is from a family of artists and based in Birany Birany. She is a member of the Dhudi Djapu Clan. She paints the traditional miny’tji of her Clan that involves stories of Yalata and Dhuruputjpi (Wilparr). She collects most of the barks herself with the help of family.
She is the sister of Binygurr Ivan Wirrpanda.
