Stella Mcmillan
Tangentyere Artists and Yarrenyty Arltere ArtistsBorn at Santa Theresa, Stella lives with many other members of her famly at Hidden Valley Town Camp. She likes to paint bush tucker, but has been exploring new arts practices with Tangentyere Artists. Stella has been painting for a long time and has also worked across other mediums including ceramics and jewellery.
In 2020, Stella worked with artist Thea Anamara Perkins on a collaborative artwork as part of a larger series of screenprinted works on paper. The series speaks to issues that face First Nations people today. In the years that followed, Stella participated in numerous drawing and design workshops, including a commission by Power and Water for their reconciliation action plan.
Stella also participated in a series of workshops for Footy Show, a satelite Desert Mob exhibition held in 2022 at Watch This Space ARI. Ewyenper Atwatye Artists collaborated on drawings, screenprinted works on paper and t-shirts as part of the exhibtion alongside Hermannsburg Potters, Bindi and Many Hands Art Centres.
