Rachel Lynch Napaltjarri

Tangentyere Artists and Yarrenyty Arltere Artists

Rachel holds Karrinyarra and Central Mt Wedge through her father, Two Bob Tjungarrayi, one of the original Papunya Tula artists. Her mother, Nellie is from Yininti, where there is a big Rainbow Serpent Tjukurrpa. That is Rachel’s mother, Nellie’s father’s Dreaming. Rachel’s grandfather, Nellie’s father, Walter Tjampitjinpa was also one of the original Papunya Tula artists. He passed a long time ago in 1981. Rachel has painted with Papunya Tjupi Art Centre, but has moved to Alice Springs and so joined Tangentyere Artists. She paints various stories associated with Karrinyarra, including the Kapi Dreaming, Yalke, and Dancing Women Dreaming that are a part of the rich women’s traditions associated with that Country.

When painting for Papunya Tjupi, Rachel exhibited works across the country. Since Joining Tangentyere Artists in 2018 her works have been exhibited in Tangentyere Artists Gallery, and also at events such as Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, and Tarnanthi Festival in Adelaide.
