Mary Edwards Nanaku

Mary Edwards Nanaku was born at Old Top Springs in 1968. She has been an artist and member of Karungkarni Art and Culture Aboriginal Corporation since it opened in 2011. She has been a Director of the Corporation since 2017.
Mary and her husband have two daughters, and she is kept busy with her work in Kalkarindji and Daguragu communities. She has worked in the community at the preschool and then, after training at Bachelor Institute, she was a trainee teacher for years one and two at Kalkaringi School. Now she works as a cleaner at the Shire Office and works in the Community Patrol in the evenings. In her holidays and spare time, she loves to paint. She also spends time helping the young girls to learn cultural dances for ceremony.
