Marie Yvonne Tipuamantumirri has been working at Ngaruwanajirri since 2002 when she was included in a group exhibition at the Coomalie Cultural Centre, Batchelor, NT.

Recently Marie has been painting in watercolours creating translucent effects exploring warnarringa jilamara (tribal sun design) and in ochres where she has created works based on a Tiwi favourite bush food – Yuwli (mangrove worm).

Marie has also designed and painted many gorgeous batik silk scarves based on Tiwi jilamara she responds to on the historic ceiling of the Keeping Place building where Ngaruwanajirri is based.
