Jeannie Walatinna

Jeannie Walatinna was born on Country near Mimili. She was later raised with her family in Indulkana community. There she attended school and worked in the community store.

In addition to her own painting practice, Jeannie works on large-scale collaborative paintings with her daughter Katie Walatinna (born in Mparntwe [Alice Springs] in 1995). Through the process of working together with her daughter on collaborative paintings, Jeannie continues the tradition of older women passing on their important knowledge of Tjukurpa (Anangu cultural stories) and Ngura (Country) to younger women.
