Glenda Napangardi Poulson
Papunya Tjupi ArtsGlenda Napangardi Poulson and her sisters Alice and Maureen live together in Papunya where they also paint together as Artists represented by Papunya Tjupi.
The sisters’ older brother Brogas Tjapangarti, who now lives in Alice Springs, painted for Papunya Tula Artists in the 1970s and early 1980s. Their father was Jimmy Tjukurrpa, a Ngaliya man whose country was Kunatjarri and Pikilyi. Their mother was Pilyari Napurrula, a sister of Johnny Warangkula Tjupurrula, who shared with him country around Ilpilli, Kalipinypa and Tjikari which Glenda and her siblings also share.
Glenda is a dedicated grandmother and takes pride in looking after her family. She also currently works both at the school and at Papunya Tjupi. Glenda manages to fit in time to spend at the Art Centre working and adapting her shaped designs representing her main dreaming story of Kalipinypa, a water dreaming site west of Kintore.
