Elaine Woods

Elaine Woods is minyma Anangu, a senior Aboriginal woman from the Central Desert area of Australia. Born in the bush, she grew up at Wingellina and went to the mission school in Norseman and Esperance in the south of Western Australia. She now lives with her mother, renowned artist, Maringka Baker, at Kanpi on the APY Lands in the north of South Australia. Her skills have been passed on through the Tjukurpa, the Law and way of life governing her country.
