CARMEL YUKENBARRI

Carmel was born in Balgo to her parents accomplished painters Helicopter Tjungurrayi and the late Lucy Yukenbarri.  Carmel and her sisters Imelda, Christine and Kathy have all inherited a strong painting style and spent many years learning their craft alongside their mother. She has grown up in the Balgo community. In 1991 Carmel married Ricky Woggagia and since then have had four children who they are bringing up on Balgo community. Carmel really enjoys painting and it’s her main form of work outside growing up her children.
