Audrey Inkamala

Tangentyere Artists and Yarrenyty Arltere Artists

Audrey Inkamala is the daughter of Maryanne Raggett, daughter of Daisy Nakamarra, who was one of the first wave of women Aboriginal Artists. Daisy was taught to paint by her husband Tim Leura Tjapaltjarri, a founder of the painting movement at Papunya. The couple had moved to Papunya with their six children when the community building program commenced. Daisy joined Papunya Tula Artists in the early 1980s and became one of its first female artists to achieve recognition.

Audrey usually lives in Kintore with extended family, but given her mother Maryanne live in Alice Springs, Audrey likes to come and visit. When she does, she sits down with her mother to paint at Tangentyere Artists.
