Antama Baker

Iwantja Arts

Antama Baker was born at Indulkana and grew up at the newly established Indulkana Community. As a child Antama and his siblings lived in a wiltja (hand-built shelter) along the Indulkana Creek, his family eventually moved closer to the community as housing became available.

Antama’s mother, Angkuna Baker, pioneered the first school at Indulkana, which operated from a wiltja before moving to the new building at Indulkana. Antama’s father, Alec Baker, is a respected law man, and stockman. Both Angkuna and Alec are accredited artists, with paintings held in many major public collections across Australia.
