Alan Wilson
Iwantja ArtsAlan Wilson was born in Kunamata, South Australia, and raised in Pipalyatjara.
Mr Wilson moved to Indulkana in 2000, when he married Betty King, who is also an artist with Iwantja Arts. Together, they are busy parents and grandparents.
A respected senior leader in his community, Mr Wilson is also a Pastor for the Indulkana Community and a cultural liaison officer for a number of other Indigenous community development support bodies that extend to the Walkawani and Iringka Communities.
Mr Wilson recently joined the painting studio at Iwantja Arts in 2024 and enjoys painting his Ngura (Country) and Tjukurrpa (Dreaming). He is passionate about working with the next generation of artists in the Indulkana Community, particularly through inma (ceremony) and other important cultural activities.
